2017 Chatfield Coaches & Bios
The 2017 season will be my 11th season as head coach and my 13th season with the program. I absolutely cherish this role!
I taught math at Chatfield for eight years and loved that role, too. Before that, I taught for one semester at Wheat Ridge High School. I graduated with a Mathematics degree and a Secondary Education masters degree from Texas Christian University. Go Frogs!
I am a Chatfield grad myself, as is my husband Ryan (you’ll see him on the sidelines with varsity – he’s the analytics guy). :) We have two daughters: Lucy, 6, and Molly, 3.
I love to be with my family, read actual books, and watch all kinds of sports. My favorite color is purple and my favorite Disney princess is Belle. I have only skied once in my life.
I am very excited to be back for my second season being a part of the Chatfield Volleyball program; this is my fourth season coaching overall.
I graduated in 2010 from Standley Lake High School where I played volleyball and also ran track and field all four years.
Currently, I work at Lutheran Medical Center as a CNA and I love my job being able to help and care for people. I am also going to school for nursing but will be finishing my other degree in Psychology and Biology in the fall, needless to say I love being around people and enjoy being able to help.
When I can get free time, I love to be outdoors- hiking, backpacking, camping, snowboarding and paddle boarding. I enjoy reading books and making crafts. My favorite colors are purple and green and I am a huge sports fan, especially the Broncos and the Avalanche!
Brenda is originally from the farm in St. Peter, MN, and attended college at St. Cloud State University earning a BS degree in Speech Communication & Marketing. She met her husband, Doug, in college and they have 2 daughters, Brooklyn and Erika.
This is Brenda’s first year coaching at Chatfield. She coached CARA for four years, was the head coach for Chatfield Gold Crown last season, and is going into her 3rd year as a head coach at Juggernaut Volleyball, where she is also the Accounting Manager.
Any spare time is spent outside tinkering with flowers and the garden, or doing genealogy and working towards publishing her family history.
“My passion for coaching goes deeper than just training the techniques of volleyball. It is also about teaching self-respect, self-discipline, and what it means to be a part of a team.”
The 2017 season will be my 1st season as a coach! I graduated Chatfield in 2013, and I am beyond exited to be rejoining the Chatfield Volleyball family! I have 13 years of volleyball experience and passion that I would love to share.
I recently graduated from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, which is a small town most people have never heard of. I played volleyball all four years, was an office assistant for my head coach and helped with the men’s volleyball program. I have my degree in Health and a minor in Spanish. This January I will go on to pursue a nursing degree.
I’m a Littleton native who loves to be in the mountains or with my family. My favorite color is purple and I have read the Harry Potter series 12 times.
