Chatfield Charger Volleyball

Hi all,

I hope everyone is enjoying our beautiful weather these days. I have more information to share about our upcoming season – getting excited! Also, a revised match schedule is attached. (Thankfully, the JV and Varsity tournament on Labor Day weekend will only be held on the Friday and Saturday of that weekend, not spanning all four days like I had originally announced!)

1. Fall Sports Registration is now open – please complete this step by Friday, August 9. This step (and the accompanying doctor’s physical) is required for participation in tryouts!

2. It’s not too late to sign up for our pre-tryout camp – August 6 through August 8 – register here. Come join us! We’d love to have all the interested Chatfield Volleyball athletes attend, if they’re able.

3. Our pre-tryout parent meeting will be Tuesday, August 6, at 5:15pm in the theatre, preceding the All Fall Sports meeting with Chatfield’s new Athletic Director, Jon Watson, at 6:00pm in the gym.

4. Tryout times! Since Back to School Night will be held on Wednesday evening, August 14, please note that the Wednesday tryout times are earlier in the day.

Tryouts: Monday through Wednesday, August 12 – 14
Monday and Tuesday:
11th-12th graders: 3:30-5:45pm
9th-10th graders: 6:15-8:30pm
Wednesday:
11th-12th graders: 1:00-3:00pm
9th-10th graders: 3:30-5:30pm
Athletes should plan to attend all three days. We do make a first round of cuts at the end of Tuesday’s sessions. All returning JV and Varsity athletes should plan to attend the earlier sessions. Other athletes may also be asked to switch sessions.

5. For this season, the “player pack” cost will be around $190. The player pack includes three practice shirts, three pairs of socks, one pair of kneepads, and two additional team apparel items. It also includes the $10 fee that gives access to team and individual photos after our team picture date. Player pack $$ is due on Thursday, August 15 – our first day of practice. Our booster board has available funds if any athlete would benefit from assistance with this piece.

6. A few other dates to note! Our “post-tryout” Parent Meeting and Season Kick Off will be held on Monday, August 19, at 6:00pm. Our program-wide CAR WASH will be held on Saturday, September 7. Our end of season banquet is scheduled for Friday, November 22. Good things to get on the calendar early!
